Analysis and Management of Building and Housing Accessibility Plans

Every person has the right to the access and the services of public building facilities or whatever construction. For this reason, all new building constructions, and in those which are being rehabilitated, must be accessible. Therefore, municipal buildings must be accessible, whether they are new or old, so the administration that watches over citizens’ interest must show good example. Therefore, an action program needs to be available which can determine the priorities and investment that needs to be carried out.

Advice on Private and Public Building Accessibility

A posterior report after a visit and an analysis of the building will reflect the actual accessibility level and will offer recommendations to solve or improve the potential lackings or make action proposals which set out guidelines to be followed for a possible intervention in the building.

Example: Gravi School. On this occasion, the compilation of the accessibility advice report was complemented with some proposed actions which offered guidelines to follow for a possible intervention in the building that would resolve accessibility problems that were present.

As a consequence of the need for improvement of accessibility of buildings, works have been carried out in buildings with the aim of resolving accessibility problems.

Example: Jaca. An old building situated in Jaca, for single-family use. It was necessary to reconvert it into two homes for holiday periods. A proposal was carried in order to see the physical, formal and functional possibilities.
